Step 01
01
Mint
It arrives asleep. A sleeping magpie is a picture and nothing more: it holds no stock, it earns none, and it costs you nothing to keep.
01How it works
A magpie is minted asleep, woken with a burn, and kept awake with more.
Step 01
01
It arrives asleep. A sleeping magpie is a picture and nothing more: it holds no stock, it earns none, and it costs you nothing to keep.
Step 02
02
Burn 50,000 $SHINY. The bird opens its eyes, joins the flock, and starts earning on the next hourly epoch.
Step 03
03
Burn 10,000 $SHINY to reset the clock. Feeding is small and takes one transaction. Forgetting is the part that costs you.
Step 04
04
Every hour the contract divides the fees $SHINY collected and pays each awake bird its share, straight into the Nest inside it.
Nothing here happens on a schedule you have to watch.
02$SHINY
$SHINY is the only thing you spend, and spending it destroys it.
The token
There is no staking contract, no emission schedule and no yield denominated in it. $SHINY is spent to wake a bird, spent to feed it, and counted while it climbs. Every one of those is a burn.

Burn
One burn turns a picture into an earner. Required once per bird, and again after every sale.
Burn
One burn resets the decay clock. Small, repeatable, and the only maintenance there is.
Burn
Every burn is counted against the bird for life. Enough of them and it crosses into the next tier.
It is never paid out. It only ever burns. What you are paid is stock.
03The Nest
What a magpie earns is tokenized stock, and it accumulates inside the NFT.

The mechanism
$SHINY is paired against NVDAx, tokenized NVDA, on Pons v2. That pairing is the whole mechanism. Every trade pays a fee, and a fee on that pair is skimmed in the asset on the other side of it, so it lands already denominated in stock.
Nothing is bought afterwards. Nothing is converted. The stock does not have to be acquired, because it was never anything else.
Not required
Nothing is scheduled to sell fees into stock on a timer, so there is nothing to front-run and no silent failure to discover a week later.
Not required
Nothing crosses the market on your behalf. There is no price to get wrong, no size too large to fill, and no bad hour to be caught in.
Not required
The split is arithmetic inside the distributor. Nobody presses a button to make it happen, and nobody can decline to.

Free, permanently. The withdrawal path has no fee to charge, so there is no number for a future admin to change.
The stock lands inside the bird, and travels with it when it sells.
04Iridescence & decay
An unfed magpie stops earning, but never loses what it has bought.
What fades
Decay takes the shine, never the tier. A bird that has been ignored for two months earns nothing at all, and still owns every gram of weight anyone ever burned into it.
Four states. Each one is a plate coming off the press, not a filter.

Day 0–28
All three plates on the press.

Day 28–42
The fluorescent plate comes off.

Day 42–56
One plate left, running light.

Day 56+
No ink at all. Only the impression.
Maintenance
10,000 $SHINY resets the clock to zero from any state, dormancy included. A dormant magpie earns nothing while it sleeps, then earns at full weight the moment it wakes.
24 slots · never reissued
A tiding is the collective noun for magpies. The first 24 birds ever activated take the name and are exempt from decay for good.
05Tiers
Burning more into one bird permanently raises what it can earn.
Weight
Weight is bought once and kept forever. Every $SHINY ever burned into a token counts toward its tier, whether you burned it or somebody who owned the bird before you did.
Cumulative $SHINY burned → max weight
Tier is permanent. It travels with the bird, survives the sale, and cannot be stripped out and sold separately. A new owner spends one activation burn to wake it and inherits the whole hoard.

06Gilded
Eight birds are printed with a gold plate, drawn where nobody can see it first.
Gilded
8
of 1,792
The fifth ink
Gold appears 8 times in 1,792 and nowhere else in the collection. It is not a rarity score or a trait weighting. It is a plate that only eight birds were run through, and it is obvious on sight.
The draw
The seed that decides which eight is committed before the first mint and revealed after the last, so nobody sees the answer while there are still birds to buy — not you, not us, not a bot watching the chain.
The uncomfortable comparison
A collection that reveals as it mints is telling you the answer is already readable on-chain. If it can be read, it can be sniped, and it is. Committing first is the only version of this that survives someone actually checking.
